With a rich history dating back to the 1880s, Edina exploded in popularity during the 1950s and 1960s as the Twin Cities’ premier neighborhood and continues to be one of the area’s most prestigious suburbs. 
 
Edina is a desirable, upscale community with pristine parks, nature trails, and lakes. Centennial Lakes Park, located in the heart of Edina, is considered one of the Twin Cities’ most beautiful parks. It is also well-known for its unparalleled commercial corridor near 50th and France and its high-end shops and restaurants. Another popular retail area is the Galleria, a posh, upscale shopping center in Edina. The Galleria is located just minutes from 50th and France. Some of the Galleria’s most noteworthy shops include Tory Burch, Tiffany & Co., and more. 
 
For some of Edina’s best fine dining, check out Salut Bar Americain, a French-American fusion restaurant with a modern twist. Another popular restaurant near the Galleria is  CRAVE, featuring exceptional American and Japanese fare, including steak, seafood, and fresh sushi.    
 
Things to Do
Beyond the exceptional shopping and dining scene, Edina is well-known for its excellent outdoor spaces and many events and festivals throughout the year. For outdoor enthusiasts, check out the Nine Mile Creek Regional Trail, a scenic hiking trail in the southwest portion of Edina. Nearby the Nine Mile Creek Regional Trail is Bredesen Park, a 206-acre nature park featuring bike trails, nature paths, and picnic areas. 
 
One of Edina’s most popular parks is Centennial Lakes Park, a recreational park set on over 24 acres. Centennial Lakes Park offers paddle boats, putting courses, lawn games, and an ice skating rink. One of the area’s most popular events is Outdoor Music in the Park, an outdoor concert series held all summer long. 
 
Other popular events include the Edina Fourth of July Parade and the Edina Art Fair. The Edina Fourth of July Parade, which always takes place the first weekend of July, is one of the city’s liveliest events. The parade begins behind Edina City Hall and ends on Halifax. The Edina Art Fair, located on 50th and France, showcases the work of local artists and is held the first weekend of June.
